Erin Andrews was blown away by Travis Kelce after sharing the VIP tent with the Kansas City Chiefs star at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London.
In the latest installment of their Calm Down podcast, Andrews and co-host Charissa Thompson – who claim bragging rights as matchmaker to the couple – broke down how Kelce was behind the scenes at his girlfriend’s record-breaking tour.
Andrews admitted her investment in getting a scoop on Swift’s dance routines and show details. Ahead of the 14-time Grammy winner’s acoustic setlist, Andrews attempted to make Kelce a source of information.
‘I said: ‘Travis! Do you know what they are?” the FOX Sports reporter recalled. ‘He was great, whether he had a poker face or not, he was like: ‘I think it’s an old one and one of the new ones.”
‘And it was adorable. He goes: ‘And the bridge leads to this.’ I just looked at him and I go: ‘The fact that you just said ‘Bridge’ blows my mind.”
Thompson chimed in the conversation, sharing how it was her first time witnessing Kelce in person as he watched Swift take the stage. She later revealed taking pictures of the tight end as she enjoyed the show.
‘There is a picture that I took just of her on stage and he is, like, off to the side, and the way that he looks at her when [she’s] performing — I said to him, like: ‘You must be so proud.’ He was like: ‘You have no idea.”
Andrews also gushed over the viral moment when Swift appeared to be singing her 2019 hit ‘Lover’ to Kelce as he stood in the crowd. The host shared their admiration for how much Kelce cherished being there for his girlfriend.
‘We were kinda all standing there watching it and it was awesome,’ Andrews said. ‘For romantics like Charissa and I, for a guy that we cheer for on and off the field, and obviously we’re massive fans of hers, it was really cool and it was kinda like an inside look of, like, a relationship that all of us had been hoping for.’
‘But it was really, really special and he was just standing there and just taking her in.’
Andrews and Thompson memorably got on their podcast and encouraged Swift to go on a date with their friend before the relationship took the world by storm late last year.
Having played a role in the genesis of their romance, Andrews slammed critics who labelled Swift and Kelce’s relationship as a publicity stunt.
‘We were there, we saw them,’ Andrews said. ‘I don’t believe for a second this is an act. I’m embarrassed of all the people that said it was a PR stunt. I don’t want it to be. I will say this, I hope to God they get married. I want this thing to last. It is so cool to watch.’
‘Having a guy that is that successful — he walks into a room, he lights up a room — having him support her the way he does is such a great message for so many people.’
Andrews attended the first of three consecutive shows at Wembley Stadium over the weekend and missed Kelce’s on-stage debut with Swift on Sunday.
However, the Calm Down hosts likened the moment to Swift chugging a beer on the jumbotron while Kelce competed in the Super Bowl in February.
‘It’s a perfect microcosm of, like, who they are as a couple where it’s like, not taking themselves too seriously, having fun, but including one another in their big moments,’ Thompson said. ‘It’s just adorable. I thought it was so great.’
