Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce recently joked about his father, Ed Kelce, being misled by sensational Facebook headlines concerning his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift.
In an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, Travis, 34, shared amusing anecdotes about his father’s reaction to online rumors. “He’ll see some wild stuff come across and be like, ‘Hey, what the heck is this?'” Travis recounted. When Ed Kelce asked, “Hey, you guys OK?” Travis would respond, “Get off Facebook, Dad. Are you kidding me?”
Travis laughed off these exchanges with podcast co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, describing Facebook as his dad’s “search engine.”
Travis doesn’t let online opinions get to him
The NFL star emphasized that he doesn’t let online chatter affect him to the point where he needs to seek comfort from family. He credited his father for instilling this resilience. “Who cares what random people on social media are saying?” Travis remarked. He encouraged self-reflection, advising to consider whether criticism is fair or irrelevant.
Travis, who has been with the NFL since 2013, gained significant media attention in 2023 when rumors of his relationship with Taylor Swift emerged. The couple went public in September 2023, and since then, Ed Kelce has spoken fondly of Swift.
In an October interview with People, Ed described Swift as “very sweet, very charming, and very down-to-earth.” He added, “I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off.”
Thank you for watching
Travis attributes his carefree attitude to his family, calling it a “Kelce trait” and asserting his “don’t care” mindset as part of his DNA.
