PHOENIX – The Eagles have landed. The Chiefs, too.
The much anticipated Super Bowl 57 between Philadelphia and Kansas City became more real Sunday afternoon when both teams landed at Sky Harbor International Airport.
The Chiefs arrived first, many stepping down the airplane stairs and onto the runway in colorful garb. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes sported a Louis Vuitton hoodie and sunglasses. The Eagles arrived about an hour later wearing matching team-issued sweatsuits, although quarterback Jalen Hurts exited the plane wth a Luis Vuitton duffel bag.
The game is expected to be a close one. The Eagles are a 1 ½-point favorite by most sportsbooks, although that could change as kickoff nears.
The Super Bowl isn’t the only game in town. The WM Phoenix Open will also attract a significant amount of visitors.
“With our vast experience in hosting numerous events each year, I am confident that we are fully prepared to handle the over 100,000 visitors expected this week,” Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said Monday at a Super Bowl kickoff press conference.
