It was all by design, because Travis Kelce is the mastermind.
As it turns out, when it comes to the epic Eras Tour themed party Taylor Swift recently enjoyed, the event was orchestrated by none other than the Kansas City Chiefs tight end himself.
When a user commented on one of the many posts chronicling the extravaganza that it looked to be a wrap party, Jo-Jo Edwards-Helaire—the wife of Chiefs player Clyde Edwards-Helaire—responded, “It was, a congratulations party. And a surprise from Trav.”
Indeed, for his girlfriend’s 35th birthday, Travis decided to gift Taylor a party to honor the end of the epic, almost two-year long tour where attendees arrived in Eras-themed looks.
For instance, pal Brittany Mahomes paid homage to Taylor’s Midnights album in a silver and black-fringed outfit, while her husband and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recreated Travis’ look when he joined Taylor on stage during the tour, rocking a tuxedo and white flower on his lapel.
As Travis’ friend Ross Travis wrote on Instagram alongside photos from the evening, “Epic night for an Epic run!”
Ross also took to his Story to share more snaps from the party, including one wear Taylor is rocking out with a mic in her hand on the dance floor (to which Ross added a laughing emoji), followed by a picture of him alongside the happy couple, writing, “Eras complete. Congrats Tay!”
And for their part, Travis and Taylor dressed to impress. Much like Patrick, Travis ran back his Eras Tour look, rocking a full tuxedo alongside Taylor’s black, Balmain halter minidress.
The Grammy winner finished off her bejeweled look with a red friendship bracelet—because an Eras-themed look would be incomplete without one—and a pair of diamond De Beers Arpeggia One Line Earrings.
The sweet gesture from Travis should come as no surprise to fans. After all, both he and Taylor have been candid about the ways the each show up for the other, supporting their various endeavors.
Just take the many times the Tortured Poets Department artist showed up to a Chiefs home game, or how many Eras Tour shows Travis made sure to attend in his off-season.
And when Taylor accepted the award for Video of the Year at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards for “Fortnight,” she made sure to shoutout the support from her guy on the Chiefs.
“Something that I’ll always remember is when I finished a take and I’d say ‘cut,’ and we’d be done with that take, I would always hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting it,” she said onstage. “That one person was my boyfriend, Travis.”
She added, “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”
