Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce went viral on New Year’s Eve after he posted a message and promo video for his upcoming film, “Happy Gilmore 2.”
In the teaser for the film, Kelce made an appearance and delivered a line to Adam Sandler’s character (Happy Gilmore), telling him, “It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore.”
While Kelce’s role in the film is unknown, it appears he’s playing some sort of employee at a golf clubhouse.
“It’s great to see you back in 2025, Mr. Gilmore! Wishing everyone a HAPPY New Year with HAPPY GILMORE 2, coming to @netflix in the new year,” Kelce wrote in the caption of the post.
Interestingly, Travis Kelce’s latest venture in his on-screen career had Taylor Swift fans linking him to one of the pop star’s popular songs.
The song “Karma” has a line that says, “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.” While Swift had often changed the lyrics to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” as a nod to Kelce during her “Eras Tour,” many fans believe that’s no longer needed.
After all, with his latest acting gig, one could say Kelce is now the “guy on the screen.”
“So karma is the guy on the screen?” a fan wrote in the comment section of his post. Another one said, “Travis is the guy on the chiefs AND screen.”
“Karma IS the guy on the screen,” a follower added.
“TRAVIS IS THE GUY ON THE SCREEn!!!!!!” a Swiftie exclaimed in excitement. A fifth supporter wrote the same thing, “Travis is the guy on the screen.”
A fan repeated the lyrics of Swift’s song, saying, “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.”

Clearly, Swifties are happy to see Kelce get more acting roles and establish a career in the entertainment industry. Earlier in 2024, he also starred in the FX drama series “Grotesquerie.”
Perhaps in the future, fans will also get to see Swift and Kelce act together in the same show. If, and that’s a big if, that happens, it will surely break the internet.
