Swiftie reveals how he got plucked out of the crowd and given Taylor Swift’s iconic bowler hat at her Melbourne show – and how you can do it to

A die-hard Swiftie has revealed how Taylor Swift gave him her iconic black bowler ’22’ hat at her Melbourne show on Saturday night

TikTok star Oliver Mills, 24, appeared on The Sunday Project and told the hosts scoring the hat was a combination of luck and the fact that she was a big fan of his channel

‘I was at the right place at the right time. I’m not one to kiss and tell, she said she was a fan and thought I was funny, so we’re just going to run with that,’ he explained.

‘To go on stage and be that close to someone so kind and beautiful was absolutely incredible.’

During each of her Eras Tour shows, Taylor randomly plucks a person from the crowd to come up on stage and receive her hat.

Another Swiftie has also revealed her theory on how Taylor chooses which fan to give her hat to.

Michelle Hillier said she believes the star chooses an overly enthusiastic fan at the start of each show.

‘About five minutes before the show started Swift came out and she was waving,’ she said in a TikTok video.

‘There have been rumours that Swift chooses who receives that hat. There was a little girl in my section and she was dancing up a storm, having the best time.

‘About three songs in, security came down to our section and started dancing and then turned to the little girl and asked who she was here with.

‘She had a huge smile on her face and she told them to come with her. That girl looked exactly like the girl who received the hat.

‘My guess is that at the start of the show Swift chooses somebody and then security takes them to meet her.’

Tens of thousands of Swifties once again descended on the MCG for the third Australian show on Sunday, with Taylor putting on another incredible performance for emotional fans.

Swift mania will soon hit Sydney with the pop star set to perform at four shows from Friday, February 23 to Monday February 26.
