The tennis star, who was clad in Gucci, shared a few details about her growing family on Instagram prior to the eventsoon become a reality).
Williams has been outspoken about the health difficulties she experienced during her first pregnancy with Alexis Olympia, penning an essay for Elle that called attention to the increased rate of maternal mortality for Black women in the U.S. that nearly claimed her life (even despite her fame and access to state-of-the-art medical resources).
Hopefully, this long-hoped-for pregnancy will be easier on Williams. Really, can you conceive of a more auspicious start to a child’s life than an in-utero appearance at the Met Gala?
