Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 10 months, will be born into a world with social media and all the issues that come with it. Royal expert Omid Scobie said on Yahoo Style UK’s The Royal Box: It’s going to be a really big struggle for them.
They are born into this age of social media, so it won’t be like us where it’s come into our lives slightly older and that’s going to be very much William and Kate’s duty to protect them from that other world out there.”
Royal Box presenter Kate Thornton asked whether the three Royal youngsters might be at a disadvantage socially because they will not be able to use social media like most children.
She saidi: “For the younger generation of Royals, all their mates are going to be on social media.“They can’t in the same way post, share, like and comment.
Do you think that’s going to put them at a disadvantage in a very digital world?”Mr Scobie emphasised that social media can have a negative impact on mental health. He explained how Sarah Ferguson and Meghan Markle are both speaking out about these issues.
He said: “As we all know there’s a lot of negativity on social media and you want to keep your children away from that.
“That’s why we saw Sarah Ferguson speak out about it. Even Meghan spoke out about it not too long ago during the New Zealand tour.
