Musk has been at the receiving end of criticism after announcing that users who want to have a verified account should spend eight dollars per month to subscribe to the Twitter Blue plan.

“Elon Musk let me get my blue check back!” Mahomes wrote, accompanying his post with three laughing emojis.

Musk didn’t reply to the tweet, but the NFL star didn’t hesitate to express his gratitude after he got back the blue tick.

“Appreciate it, Elon Musk,” Mahomes said.

It has to be noted that Mahomes didn’t seem to be willing to subscribe to the newly introduced Twitter Blue plan when asked by one of his followers back in March.

“Can’t bro, I got [have] kids,” Mahomes wrote.

The two-time Super Bowl winner has as many as 2.4 million followers on Twitter. He isn’t the only celebrity to refuse to pay for the blue checkmark.

After inspiring his team to Super Bowl success back in February, Mahomes explained why this title was different from the one that his team won back in 2019.
