Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed the richest contract in North American professional sports in July, but he didn’t wait until then to purchase a home. Mahomes bought a house in Kansas City, Missouri — right by the Kansas border — in Feb. 2019 for $1.99 million, according to property records.
The three-bedroom, 2½-bath home is estimated at 4,343 square feet on a 1.4-acre lot, according to Realtor.com. The Chiefs star’s house incorporates modern block architecture into a clapboard-siding ranch house.
The home features some interesting aspects. Stone fireplaces are featured in the family room, living room and the owner’s bedroom, the latter measuring 1,250 square feet with a walk-in closet and a gym. According to Zillow, there is a 500-bottle wine room, a chef’s kitchen and a wet bar.
Mahomes is anxious for the opportunity to play Tom Brady in a Super Bowl setting and says he is “pretty close to 100 percent” entering Sunday’s game in Tampa, Fla. Mahomes is nursing a toe injury suffered during the divisional round of the playoffs against the Cleveland Browns.
