Osaka, Raducanu and Swiatek among players leading social media value charts for WTA Tour

With social media playing a major role in marketing in today’s society, it comes as no surprise that tennis stars Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek, Emma Raducanu and Ons Jabeur were among the Top 5 WTA players with the highest social media value in 2022.

According to a list released by Novak Djokovic’s Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), the now-retired doubles specialist Sania Mirza topped the list. Mirza’s posts across all social media platforms amounted to $11.3 million worth of media value. Swiatek came in second with just under $10 million worth of social value, while Osaka was third with $8.7 million. Raducanu and Jabeur rounded out the Top-5 with $7.2 million and $5.5 million in social value, respectively.

Mirza’s retirement post on Instagram during the Australian Open, Raducanu’s Instagram post regarding her Singapore visit, and Gauff’s retirement tribute post for Serena Williams on Twitter during the US Open were the other best posts based on social value.

 

On the rise is Magda Linette, who saw a 338% increase in social value during the 2022 season as opposed to 2021. Gauff, Swiatek and Caroline Garcia also saw an increase in their social value during the past year
