Several of sports’ biggest stars stunned on fashion’s biggest night as Roger Federer, Patrick Mahomes and Serena Williams led the athletes who traded the court and field for the famed steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The sporting icons proved they could shine just as well off the pitch as they did on it when they attended Monday night’s Met Gala.
Tennis legend Federer led the sports delegation as chairman of this year’s extravaganza.
Federer was one of the evening’s chairs, and one of the early-comers walked up the carpeted steps minutes after fellow co-chair Dua Lipa arrived.

“I think the sports people have become more and more fashionable,” Federer told the AP. ‘We’re lucky that we’re doing covers a lot more these days. It used to be the models, the pretty people, not the athletes.’“Life has been so intertwined between sports and fashion in recent years, so it’s nice to get on a red carpet like this,” he said before taking the stairs.
Meanwhile, fellow tennis icon Serena Williams revealed she is expecting her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian while attending the event.
The 41-year-old tennis superstar showed off a prominent baby bump as she walked the red carpet with her husband at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
She welcomed her first child, a daughter named Alexis Olympia Jr., in 2017, though her name is Olympia.
Serena also confirmed the pregnancy with an Instagram post showing off her elegant Gucci dress.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the three of us to the Met Gala,” she captioned her post playfully.
