“Years ago, I had my nose done. And my boobs—best thing I ever did,” says Kaley Cuoco in this month’s issue of Women’s Health. She also admitted that she recently got an injection to fill a line in her neck.
Surprised? You shouldn’t be.
Cuoco is famously fitness-focused; looking and feeling her best is a priority for her and, as Chrissy Teigen just reminded us, for celebrities, maintaining a certain image is actually part of the job. When what you look like is an integral part of how you make your living, beauty isn’t vanity; it’s a career investment.
Cuoco might be one of the few stars willing to be so public about what she’s changed on her body, but she’s far from the only one who’s had a little something done. Of course, no star is under any kind of obligation to “fess up” to surgery. It’s their business. But just in case you thought of judging Cuoco, here’s a reminder: your faves have gotten fillers, too.
Besides, according to recent data, approximately half a million women undergo either a nose or breast augmentation every year. So even if it seems like Hollywood is surgery-obsessed, the vast majority of cosmetic procedures are performed on non-famouses. Let’s not be hypocritical about this, okay?
It’s awesome that Kaley is being so candid. And at the end of the day, it doesn’t change anything. Her surgeries didn’t affect her talent and knowing about them won’t change the fact that she’s one of the highest-paid actresses on television.
For her part, Cuoco seems to have a really healthy perspective on the situation. “As much as you want to love your inner self…I’m sorry, you also want to look good,” she says, echoing the sentiments of, um, probably every red-blooded woman on Earth, at some point. She continued, “I don’t think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s amazing.” Amen.
