Jennifer Lopez and Emme Maribel Muiz performed a variety of songs at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala on June 16, which was held at Dodger Stadium.
The mother-daughter combo have a knack for getting people on the floor. While JLo has had a successful career, 14-year-old seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps to become the next big superstar.
JLo and Emme performed a moving duet of Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years.’ But it did not stop there, as the duo performed Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA,’ followed by a video of Emme performing at Super Bowl 2020. Jennifer was then led by Emme into a rendition of ‘Let’s Get Loud.’
“It was very sweet,” an attendee at the gala told E! News when asked about JLo and Emme’s performance.”Multiple times, J.Lo and Emme hugged each other and they were singing to each other most of the time.”The same attendee was also asked about Emme’s vocals.”Emme sounded amazing!” the attendee quipped.
Jennifer commented on Emme’s “performance gene” in February 2020, after the then-11-year-old joined her mother onstage for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show.
“She doesn’t let it in her mind how big [the performance] is or how it scares you,” JLo stated on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”That’s what you have to do when you’re up there, you know-you kind of have to [have] control. She has that gene, that gene of ‘I’m comfortable up here…’ I wish I felt more like her.
“She has a good time with it and I would never make her do it if it ever made her uncomfortable in any way.”
