Jason Kelce is a man of many accolades — retired Philadelphia Eagles center, podcast co-host, husband, father — and now, he can add fragrance muse to that list.

Kelce, 37, spoke with PEOPLE tied to the launch of Slow Burn by Kingsford, a new limited-edition fragrance that’s inspired by Kelce and the flavors and essence of charcoal and barbecue grilling.
“For me, smells really do elicit strong memories,” he said. “And there’s certain smells that I think just make you think of vivid points in your life.”
For Kelce, charcoal brings him back to cooking with his family, playing sports and hanging with his friends in college.

“My dad would make chicken wings all the time, so he had a barbecue sauce that he wanted to take commercial, and my mom probably smartly talked to him out of that,” he laughed. “But he loved grilling, and he would make chicken wings. And charcoal was one of the very vivid memories of that. And also at any sporting event, they would do family meals or whatnot. And there was always a charcoal grill.”
The retired Philadelphia Eagles player, who is married to wife Kyle Kelce, 33, says that grilling is still just as much of a family tradition for the couple and their daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 6 months.
And while Kelce will admit that his daughters are “picky eaters,” he maintains that they’re starting to “go for” foods off the grill — especially if Kylie is the one cooking.

“Kylie definitely does most of the cooking., I’m not gonna lie,” he says. “She’s actually very good at grilling, too. And I will grill. I like grilling, and Kylie and I have gone back and forth on ribs before so you can make better ribs. And she always wins. It’s very frustrating.”
