Taylor Swift has won Pop Songwriter of the Year at the 2024 BMI Pop Awards. Swift wrote on 10 of BMI’s most-performed songs of 2023, including ‘Anti-Hero,’ ‘Cruel Summer,’ ‘Karma,’ ‘Lavender Haze,’ and ‘Maroon.’
The pop star has now added to her impressive total of 65 BMI Awards.
This comes after her song ‘Anti-Hero’ also helped Swift earn her seventh Grammy nomination. Miley Cyrus took home the Song of the Year award for her hit single ‘Flowers,’ which stayed at number one for eight weeks.
Producer and songwriter Benny Blanco won the BMI President’s Award, bringing his total to 55 BMI awards.
“We have the best job in the world, and we are so thankful and lucky to be in this room. We have the opportunity to make things better through music and help people.
We’re giving the soundtrack to peoples’ lives,” said Blanco during his acceptance speech.
