Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes sent a touching message to a US army veteran.
The superstar quarterback is a member of the NFL elite.
But Mahomes took time out to pay tribute to Chiefs fan and ex-military man Scott Buis.
In a personally written letter, Mahomes praised Buis for his bravery and thanked him for his work in the community since retiring from service.
“I wanted to send you a note personally thanking you for your service to our great country in the US army,” he wrote.
“Your incredible sacrifice, courageousness and selflessness is incredibly admirable not only to me and the entire Kansas City organisation, but to those throughout our country.“I was thrilled to learn that your love for the Chiefs helped you get through your years on the frontline, as well as when you transitioned out of service.

“While I can’t begin to imagine the hardships you endured in combat, what I admire most is when you left the military you dedicated your life to helping your fellow servicemen and women get access to the resources they needed.
“It is commendable that you continue to provide other veterans with strength and guidance through your work at welcome home inc.
“Without your service, there would be no football, no NFL and of course no game days. For that reason, I say thank you.”“Patrick stay humble! Go Chiefs,” said one supporter. “Awesome. Just awesome,” added a second.
