The second child and eldest daughter of King Frederik and Queen Mary turns 18 on April 21, and she’s been celebrating with several events. On April 15, Isabella and her family stepped out at The Old Stage of The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen for a gala performance in celebration the teen royal’s milestone birthday.
Isabella looked sophisticated in a navy blue gown, sweeping her hair back into an updo. She completed her look with something from her mother’s jewelry box: diamond fringe earrings.

Queen Mary debuted the impressive jewels in May 2017 at a birthday gala for King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway. She’s since worn them to several royal events and for family portraits, often pairing them with her wedding tiara.
In a sweet link between her two eldest children, Mary also chose to wear the earrings at the gala dinner marking the 18th birthday of her eldest child, Prince Christian.

King Frederik’s wife of 20 years joked at the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen in May 2024 that she doesn’t have to share her ensemble with her daughters often.
“The age gap means they wouldn’t be caught dead in them,” she said, according to the North West Star. “However, when they will be seen in something that is mine, it always brings a smile to my face.”
Princess Isabella posed for photos with her family outside the performance, including her parents and siblings: Crown Prince Christian, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
Her grandmother, Queen Margrethe — who passed the throne to King Frederick when she abdicated in January 2024 — was also in attendance, as were her cousins, Count Nikolai and Count Felix of Monpezat.
