Fans unable to get Ticket for Taylor Swift Eras Tour

Taylor Swift wowed audiences as she brought her Eras Tour to Cardiff on Tuesday, June 18. Unfortunately though, not everyone was able to get tickets to the show — which was attended by people who came to the Welsh capital from all over the world.

That didn’t stop people from positioning themselves just outside the stadium in order to enjoy an evening listening to the world’s biggest pop star. Fans came in their hundreds to enjoy tracks such as Shake It Off, Fearless and Bad Blood.

One of those fans was nine-year-old Amelia from Cardiff, who camped out during the show with her mum and dad. In an interview with WalesOnline the youngster said: “I’ve been a Swiftie since September. She’s a great singer.”

Amelia, who was dressed in an outfit inspired by Taylor’s ‘Love Era’, added: “We couldn’t find tickets so we thought it’d just be best to stand outside and hear it.”

Among the other fans who were outside enjoying the music were sisters Ella and Freya who are also from Cardiff. “I just love her lyrics and songs,” Ella said. She described how she was inspired to start listening to the singer after listening to her teacher talk about Tay Tay.

Another fan on the bridge said of the singer: “I feel like Taylor’s really changed [over the course of her career]. She’s a role model to women all over the world.”

After her performance in Cardiff Taylor is set to perform in London later this week. Earlier this month she performed in Edinburgh and fans went wild.

Much like she has done in other regional gigs, Taylor took the time to prove that she is very cultured — by speaking Welsh minutes into the Cardiff show. She opened the show with a ‘Hiya’ in a Welsh accent, and after Cruel Summer she shouted “Shwmae!” (“Hello!”) at the crowd with a wave.

Taylor then delivered a full Welsh sentence: “Croeso i’r daith Eras!” (“Welcome to the Eras Tour!”) she told a sea of screaming Swifties.

More than 70,000 fans descended on Cardiff to see the superstar, with nearly 100 lucky ticket-holders queuing before 5.30am outside the landmark Cardiff stadium to be first in the queue
