Warsaw. 13-year-old on a power pole – a dramatic accident in Bemowo
On Thursday, at around 4 p.m., emergency services were called to the area of railway tracks running parallel to Anieli Krzywoń Street in Warsaw’s Bemowo district. Senior Commissioner Marta Sulowska, investigation for the Warsaw IV District Police Headquarters, told TVN: “The minor girl was walking past a power pole while walking in the forest. She climbed it and touched live wires, after which she fell into nearby bushes.”
The fire department, police and ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene. Due to the serious condition of the injured woman, a decision was made to transport her to the hospital by LPR helicopter. “At the time of intervention, the 13-year-old was conscious,” adds Senior Superintendent Sulowska.
What prompted the teenager to climb a high-voltage pole?
The police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this dangerous incident. “We will investigate the circumstances of this incident. Initial findings indicate that the teenager climbed the pole on her own and of her own free will,” the policewoman explains.
It is known that at the time of the accident, a group of teenagers were in a wooden area near the tracks. This raises questions about supervision of the youth and awareness of the dangers.
